Learn about her inspiring journey as she shares how she left a career in law to launch her own online bakery, specializing in corporate gifting. Daphne details how she got her business off the ground in 2016, navigated the challenges of the pandemic, and continues to run a successful and thriving enterprise today. Subarzsweets’ unique product that is a mashup of cookie/biscotti/mandelbread offers an excellent way to express gratitude to your clients, employees, or even just friends!
About Daphne and Subarzsweets: Daphne Subar left the practice of law in 2016 to follow her passion and launched Subarzsweets, LLC, an online bakery and gift-giving service. Since its onset, Subarzsweets has expanded tremendously from one flavor and one size package to over 20 varieties available in 4 package sizes as well as a membership program. Subarz have become a popular gift item and have been shipped across the country to almost all 50 states. Daphne partners with various organizations throughout the year to donate a portion of sales back to the community. Additionally, when the pandemic initially forced many restaurant and salon workers to be unemployed, Subarzsweets quickly hired those individuals to help make local deliveries.
Daphne obtained a BS in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her JD from Washington College of Law, The American University. Following graduation from law school, Daphne returned to Los Angeles and joined the firm of Knapp, Petersen & Clarke for the first ten years of her practice, specializing in various areas of civil litigation. Following the birth of her third daughter, she transitioned away from a full-time “traditional” practice to working as a contract attorney for numerous law firms for 14 years which provided her with flexibility to help balance working while caring for her children. Daphne and her husband reside in Studio City, California where they raised all three of their daughters. In addition to running her business, Daphne enjoys reading (she is a member of three different book clubs), exercising, traveling and networking. She has been a guest on numerous podcasts and enjoys finding new things to learn about.
